Property Registration Process in Uttarakhand
The registration of property in Uttarakhand is carried out under the Indian Registration Act, 1908, through the Inspector General of Registration and Sub-Registrar offices. The state has implemented the e-Registration system for online services. The process begins with the execution of the sale deed on e-stamp paper of appropriate value. Both buyer and seller must appear in person at the Sub-Registrar office with two witnesses. The Sub-Registrar verifies the identity, checks the title documents, and confirms payment of stamp duty and registration fees. After successful verification, the deed is registered and a certified copy is provided. The process takes approximately 7 to 14 working days.
